Nine years ago, our founders created history, laying the foundation of the United States’ cannabis industry.
The Trupura Story
Driven by patient care since day one, the President of trupura CBD, Bob Eschino, has spent the last decade advocating cannabis access and safety. In partnering with Rick Scarpello, CEO, our founders formed relationships with regulators and helped to lay the foundation of the United States’ cannabis industry. The duo partnered with Josh Fink, Executive Chef, and Derek Cumings, R&D Expert, to formulate trustworthy, consistent CBD-infused products that enhance the wellness of consumers.
Through invention and innovation, the four created many products with various ingredients, potencies, and methods of delivery — all of which have been inspired by people like you. Our company’s greatest joy is positively impacting yours and your loved ones’ lives with a safe, natural remedy. The cannabis plant continues to amaze us, and after years of exploration and responding to patients’ needs, we’re thrilled to provide trupura CBD products, handcrafted with the same commitment to quality and safety we’ve maintained since 2010.
Our ownership and production teams have over a decade of experience creating infused products.
We handcraft our goods using only Colorado-grown hemp certified by the state’s Department of Agriculture.
We use organic, gluten-free and sustainably-sourced ingredients, as well as natural colors and flavors.
We triple third-party lab test all our products to ensure safety, quality and consistency.
Frequently Asked Questions
Member of Cannabis genus, marijuana varies in legality throughout the United States with THC being the primary cannabinoid, a psychoactive compound that binds to the body’s cannabinoid receptors. Also a member of the Cannabis genus, hemp is legal in all 50 states with CBD being the primary cannabinoid, a non-intoxicating compound that extends endocannabinoid functions and interacts with various receptors in the body including serotonin, dopamine, orphan and TRPV1. For millennia and without a single reported fatality, both THC and CBD have been used, individually or together, to treat pain and other ailments.
According to the World Health Organization, cannabidiol (CBD) “exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” “It is generally well tolerated, with a good safety profile.” However, WHO notes that, “reported adverse effects may be as a result of drug-drug interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications.”
Like grapefruit juice, CBD alters how certain drugs are metabolized, potentially affecting the amount of medication in one’s blood, leading to enhanced side effects or lower drug effectiveness. If prescribed any medications, especially those relating to high blood pressure, sedatives, and cancer treatment, consult your physician before consuming CBD.
A 2019 Gallup poll found that one in seven Americans use CBD products, with consumers most citing relief from pain, anxiety and insomnia. Users also noted management of arthritis, headaches, stress and inflammation. CBD has also become popular among athletes as a workout recovery tool, and is the newest trend in the skin care industry.
Without FDA regulation and the creation of a Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for CBD, there is no official serving size, nor a one-fits-all dosage. trupura recommends starting with a small dosage of 20-40mg, observing your body’s response, then adjusting until you reach the desired effect. Keep in mind that your ideal dosage is dependent on what you’re looking to achieve, your body weight and chemistry, and the intake method you choose.
Bioavailability, or the amount and rate at which a drug is absorbed into the bloodstream, varies based on the method in which you consume CBD. 1. Sublingual administration, like when allowing tincture to absorb under the tongue, offers 12-35% bioavailability, with fast-acting, acute effects for 2-4 hrs. 2. Oral administration, or the ingestion of a CBD-infused edible, provides a 4-20% bioavailability and delayed effects lasting 6-8 hrs., causing such to be preferred for chronic issues. 3. Topical application when rubbing in a salve or soaking in CBD-infused bath salts technically offers a 0% bioavailability; rather, these types of products interact with the cannabinoid receptors found in the skin, providing localized effects for 6-8 hrs. 4. Inhalation when consuming smokable or vaporizable products offers a 34-46% bioavailability, with immediate effects lasting about 2 hrs.
“Full spectrum” indicates a whole cannabis-plant extract comprised of terpenes, phenolics, and all naturally-occurring cannabinoids. This product is sold under marijuana laws in each state with Medical or Recreational restrictions, and should never be purchased outside of that system, nor mailed outside of your state legal system. Full spectrum products will always be over the 0.3% THC limitations of legal hemp extract. “Broad spectrum” also signifies a whole plant extract with all naturally-occurring compounds; the hemp is then distilled and refined to be compliant with state law and includes up to 0.3% THC (note that one may fail a drug test if consuming this type of product, especially in large doses). “CBD isolate” products are refined to the point of isolating the CBD cannabinoid to 99.9% purity and has no other cannabinoids or terpenes in its profile.
Hemp is a hyperaccumulator, meaning via soil and water, it is able to absorb high levels of pollutants like heavy metals, petroleum products, and radioactive contaminants. While this eco-friendly method of industrial cleanup is great, this fact stresses the importance of knowing where your hemp is grown; you don’t want those toxins entering your body via contaminated CBD products. trupura uses hemp strictly grown and certified in Colorado, where the state’s Department of Agriculture monitors farmers’ use of pesticides and plants’ THC content.
In addition to sourcing what is arguably the best quality hemp available on the market, Trupura triple lab tests all infused products, ensuring safety, quality and consistency. We’re industry veterans with decades of combined experience, and are transparent about CBD content in each package and individual dose; plus, we use quality ingredients, always gluten-free and sustainably-sourced, and organic whenever possible.
